  • Learning the alphabet and general greetings.

  • What it means to be D/deaf/ or hard of hearing and related signs

  • Exploring lip reading, hearing aids, and other communication methods.

  • Group discussion on being more D/deaf aware.

  • Signing numbers.

  • Signs for your business

Sections will include interactive activities where you, the participant are asked to sign and
discuss key themes. We will have your staff signing basic signs by the end of the session

Case Study: The Old Fire Station Oxford

In 2022, we worked with Oxford-based theater and arts center The Old Fire Station. Already committed to supporting diversity and inclusion, the creative arts venue were keen to garner a better understanding of D/deaf culture and sign-users generally.

We ran an after-hours Deaf Awareness workshop for their team as a 3 hours CPD event, and following the training many staff members joined us for our Level 1 and Level 2  BSL Sign Language training held at the venue for the general public.
